Today’s Daily Create was to take a photo with an umbrella. I used an interesting angle and utilized natural lighting to make this photo look kind of abstract. Here it is:

The postcard I made is from a place that I want to be right now. My family lives in Scotland and I haven’t seen them in so long! I would love to go visit them, but I’ve just been so busy. However, Scott and I worked out a schedule with our News Agency and I’ll be able to visit them in a few weeks!! I’m so happy to work with people like Scott who put such an emphasis on family and spending time with them. I can’t wait to see them (:
Bet you guys didn’t expect to see one of these this week. Thanks to the graciousness and understanding of head agents Groom, Bond, Black and Burtis, my team was given an extension on our video show. Jota, Johnny, and I didn’t have schedules that worked well together last week and we could not find the time to make our video. Last week and this week were hell weeks for us…BUT, we got it done and here it is! Hope you guys enjoy it (:
An assignment I decided to do this week was to create a hybrid animal. I decided to mix Scott’s favorite animal, a dog, my favorite animal, an elephant, and another animal that I think portrays the mixing of Scott and I’s very different personalities, a zebra. The zebra’s black and white pattern signifies just how different we are but it ties together Scott’s favorite thing and my favorite thing. Somehow, our agency just works.
I created this using a website called http://switchzoo.com/default.htm
Here’s the assignment guidelines. This assignment was a visual assignment and is worth 3 stars.
Here’s the final product:
I decided to complete this assignment because I love to travel and I love Pinterest! This assignment is called “Create Your Dream Vacation On Pinterest!” and it’s worth 3 stars. The details of the assignment can be found here.
This was easy for me to do since I am so well-versed in Pinterest. I decided to make my dream vacation to Brazil because I’ve always heard that it’s beautiful. I think that this trip would definitely be possible for me one day. My husband, El Jota, also loves to travel and would love the nightlife that’s present in Brazil. And Brazil has everything that I love to: beaches, shopping hiking, native culture, etc.
A couple different things are required to make this become a reality. First off, is money, but that’s not really a problem for Jota and I…our last name is Dinero. Another thing necessary, however, is a passport and a visa. This isn’t a big obstacle either because I already have my passport and still have lots of time left on it. Some things that aren’t exactly required but are strongly recommended include vaccinations, knowledge of a different language, and Brazilian Real.
There are 3 recommended vaccinations. They are for Yellow Fever, Malaria, and Typhoid.
It would be very helpful to have a basic understanding of Portuguese, however, is not necessary since most of the people there have a basic understanding of English. Or it wouldn’t be very hard to find someone who did.
The Brazilian Real is their form of currency. This isn’t too complicated to get and is available at currency exchanges. It’s just a matter of getting it done.
A lot of things that I pinned have not only have amazing recommended places to go, but travel tips specifically to Brazil. This was so helpful!! I really hope that this Dream Vacation can one day become a reality.
I actually created two boards. One is specific to this Brazil trip and the other is a general travel board encompassing tips on flights, safety, packing, and how to plan.
This assignment was completed to give you guys a little background about how Scott and I formed this agency. You can find the guidelines for this assignment here. This assignment is worth 2 stars and is a web assignment.
Using the Storify program was very easy! I was surprised that it was so user-friendly. Since I’m typically the one in front of the camera and not really dealing with the technology, this assignment worried me a little bit. But I think my Storify turned out pretty well and I hope you all learn something about Scott and I from it. Enjoy!
For the Final Unit of DS106, I decided to work in a group. I’ll be working with Scott Brinkmann! Scott and I have gotten to know each other pretty well over the past few weeks and I’m excited to do some work with him.
Although we haven’t been given a lot of information about our assignment, I’m very excited to start an agency with Scott. Between my studio, his hotel business, and both of our networks, I think we have a lot of potential to make a high-class agency. Be on the lookout for us…if you can find us.
